Expect Great Things Video and Discussion Guide
When 12 elders describe the powerful role models and caring individuals who shaped their lives, the asset message takes on a meaning that touches the hearts of both young and old. The video illustrates the power of asset building through the lives of some of our country's most instrumental leaders for freedom and equality. The Expect Great Things video and discussion guide are effective tools to drive home the importance of family, teachers, and community in one's life. Together, they are a great resource for engaging youth and providing role models from ethnically diverse communities.

In April 2001, a Work Group of participants from 12 organizations in four different states met to share and strategize in this first-of-its-kind session for those working to integrate the asset framework in Spanish-language communities. The 16-page report of the Work Group proceedings includes guiding principles, strategies, emerging issues, a dialogue with Spanish-language parents, and more.
