Denver, CO - The Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition received an Outstanding Asset Builder Award at a statewide summit hosted by Assets for Colorado Youth in Copper Mountain on April 4-5. The Coalition was honored for its outstanding work in promoting positive youth development by infusing developmental assets into its effective parent advocacy programs.

Said María Guajardo Lucero, executive director of Assets for Colorado Youth, "This statewide organization, made up entirely of dedicated volunteers, embraces the framework of the developmental assets and integrates it into effective programs for parents."

The Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition is dedicated to improving the quality of education for Latino youth. The Coalition has created a number of successful programs that have taken hold in schools and communities across Colorado.
